For a cheap ship - a Slasher with an MWD and Over Drive injector works as will any of the Fast Frigates.
Each Faction has one.
Gallente - Atron Caldari - Condor Minmatar - Slasher Amarr - Executioner
Now ... one factor in this - is that when you are ejected from the station - you are not ejected straight out. To avoid traffic problems they eject ships on slightly off center courses.
If you're making your Undock Bookmark at 250km - then the adjustment to align to that isn't going to be great - but - if you're trying to get an off grid bookmark - the farther out you go the farther off that center line you're going to be
That is the reason for all the maneuvering that was probably part of the OP's unedited post.
There - what you do - is to come out and first slow down so you can get your ship lined up so that it's coming straight out of the chute - then increase your speed to maximum and turn on your MWD.
If you are curious as to how well it works, just try turning on your MWD and burning away from the station in whatever direction you're headed (that is - the slant off the centerline) - then - when you've made your bookmark - warp back to the station and try it out. If there's to much alignment to the bookmark going on ... then you might want to try doing it again - but this time lining up with the exits centerline and seeing how that goes.
Any time you have a station where you might be concerned about being attacked as you leave - this is a good thing to do.
Now, in the past, I have seen people camping a station squat their battleships right in front of the exit trying to block it - but I don't have any experience with running such an obstacle to say how well that works now.

Edited by: Toshiro GreyHawk on 07/02/2011 18:24:11 Oh yeah ... one of the other things I'm doing if I'm making an off grid undocking bookmark - is to make several of them. I mean ... I'm flying out there anyway ... I just make several at different ranges as I go. That way - if I'm carrying something valuable and someone is interested in what I've got - I can vary which one I warp to and reduce the chance that someone might be there waiting for me.
Now ... this may be a bit of over kill ... but then ... as I said ... I'm flying out there anyway ...
Another factor in all this though - is that if you are a little off center as you fly out - and find that your farther bookmarks require more aligning than you want - the closer ones may still be good and that may save you another trip.

A trick I use is to use the right-click -> drag to pivot the camera to look at the station and then zoom in on it (left+right-click), to see if I'm aligned with the actual undock point. ...
Yes. I'll try that - and the use of the tactical display.
What I've been doing is just moving my POV around to the bow of the ship and looking backwards.
I usually do this at slow speed - then once lined up (or at least ... once I think I'm lined up ...) I turn on the MWD.

In general: you don't need any extra agility. After you've made sure you're lined up as good as possible, you'll only be moving in a straight line for quite some time, so just ODI's all the way. T1: check each faction's frigates, as posted above. T2: interceptor Pimp: Dramiel, it's faster than inties.
As to the ODI's and NIS's - the NIS's give a speed boost too in addition to their Agility Boost - and the ODI's have a stacking penalty.
Thus, my thinking that by splitting them - you'd still be getting most of the speed boost for both. All the stuff I've read on stacking penalties sort of comes down to:
Quote:
"As a rule of thumb, you can assume that using two modules and/or rigs of the same type is still worth it; three can be, depending on the situation; and beyond that the advantage you gain after the effect of the Stacking Penalty having been deducted is only minimal."
Quote from Fitting Ships in the User Guide.
Of course ... I've left out Rigs ...

Yes. Of course ...
I really shouldn't post when I'm tired.
There's just not going to be much left for that 4th ODI though ...
Don't know if there's anything else that could be put in that slot ...
That would also mean though that for rigs - two thermal shielding rigs would be better since that's a duration boost rather than the already heavily penalized velocity boost from the aux thrusters.
